We actually went to Mount Tibidabo in Spain!

If you’re a true “Friends” fanatic, you’ll know that Joey’s bar name is Ken Adams, and that his ultimate pickup line involves telling girls about the time he hiked “through the foothills of Mount Tibidabo.” Well I had never knew where in the world Mount Tibidabo actually was, so Darcie and I were pleasantly surprised to stumble upon it on the hop-on-hop-off bus tour in Barcelona. We didn’t even ask – we knew we had to go.

To get up to the top, you take a funicular … it’s kind of like a train / trolley.

It’s pretty vintage and moves at a snail’s pace.

The top is nothing at all like what I expected. There’s a big church (naturally), a big amusement park, complete with rides, and large viewing platforms that overlook the city.Spain & portugal canon (279)- small

From the top, you get a sweeping view of Barcelona, including La Sagrada Familia. From up here, you can really tell just how massive Gaudi’s famous church actually is.Spain & portugal canon (283)- small

And then afterwards, we got back on the hop-on-hop-off and hopped off at this place, naturally. It’s funny just how many random places around the world give a little nod to Hawaii, just like this. One of these days I’ll post a blog of all the Hawaii finds I’ve discovered across the globe.Spain & portugal canon (295)- small
